About Us
About Us:
Critical is a semi-hardcore, multi-national, English-speaking, raiding guild formed on Kil’jaeden. Raiding aside, we are also a very social guild, we are frequently on Mumble or Skype to socialize and a lot of us even know each other outside of the game. We consider ourselves to be a very tight group but always love the opportunity to meet other players like ourselves.
What can Critical offer you?
Raiding: Critical gives you the opportunity to raid among like minded players who want the same thing as you, to progress through content in a drama free environment. Critical provides equal opportunities for both old and new players, if you prove yourself to be better than the other already existing members of your respective class then you will take their spot regardless of how long they have been in the guild.
Stability: Critical is a very stable guild - The guild community is close, everyone in the guild knows why they are there and everyone shares the same goal, making Critical a competing guild. Once you are in Critical you won't want to leave.
Sociability: We use Mumble for every scheduled raid including farm raids, which makes raiding a lot more enjoyable, it's not always so serious! Mumble is not only used for raiding and throughout the day you will find a large amount of Critical members in the various channels incase you get lonely! Outside of scheduled raiding there is normally a lot going on with several players in the guild doing arenas, playing alts, organising 10 mans, or just online socialising. The guild is very active outside of raiding so there is plenty to do.
What does Critical expect from you?
Attendance: During progression our raiding schedule is demanding and it is important you understand this. Our progression raids - that you will be expected to attend - will begin forming 15 minutes before 5pm PST, you are expected to be at the raid, fully prepared with flasks, potions, food, and fully repaired. First pull is at 5pm sharp.
Dedication: You must possess a positive attitude towards raiding, especially when it comes to progression raiding. You should be prepared to do everything it takes to maximise your characters effectiveness on the encounter(s). This means playing a specialization that may not be the most entertaining for you, but benefits the raid in either utility, damage, or healing more so than your other specializations. During progress raids you need to be fully awake and focused - trying to understand and offer feedback in regards to the encounter via Mumble, in-game, or on the forums. You must be mature and able to handle any criticism directed your way.
Communication: World of Warcraft is a team game and communication during a raid encounter is often very important. You will be required to use Mumble during raids and should be able to write/speak and understand English to a reasonable level.
Important criteria to consider when applying to Critical as a raider:
-
We ask all applicants to be over 18. We require a certain maturity in the Guild especially when it comes to progress and can't let things like "dinnertime" and "bedtime" interfere with our raiding.
-
We also need reliable raiders. An ability to maintain exceptional monthly attendance is expected of everyone. Frequent absences or lateness will not be tolerated.
-
We try not to be too hard on people but you must be able to take criticism without a fuss if we feel you are either doing something wrong or feel you can improve in some aspect.
-
You must also be willing to choose your most appropriate spec when raiding - none of this "but I enjoy this spec more" when it is 20% less damage than another spec.
-
Critical uses Mumble for raid communication and and being able to use it is a must. If you are not going to bother to talk just don’t apply - we NEED you to communicate. Conversely, you must be silent when required also. Nothing messes up progression like random conversations.
-
We expect all applicants to know the ins and outs of their class and spec. You will not be guided or spoon fed once you have joined.
Info if applying as a raider:
We currently raid 3 days a reset. Raiding days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, from 6:00 - 9:00PM PST. So if you think you have what it takes and want some raiding action don't hesitate to pop in an application or have a chat in-game.
Our trial period for new members lasts between two and four weeks depending on performance. During this time you may not be entitled to loot unless everyone else has passed. After this period you will be offered Member rank (for socials and those who we like but aren't quite ready for raiding), Raider rank (for raiders) or will be told they have failed and be removed from the guild.
Please use the raider application to apply and answer all questions as fully as possible as this is our first impression of you. We love to see players put in a good effort when it comes to their applications. One word answers for some questions or ignoring others makes you look lazy and ignorant!
